Holly Willoughby is stepping in for Ant McPartlin on this year's series of I'm A Celebrity.

The This Morning presenter has taken over presenting duties while Ant is in recovery for alcohol addiction, and viewers took to social media to express their views on the new host.

Willoughby's already made it clear she won't be continuing the gig after the series, but will instead return hosting duties to Ant once he makes his TV comeback. A spokesperson said to Hello Magazine that Willoughby will not be replaced, and called the notion 'absolute rubbish'.

As any regular 'This Morning' viewer will know, Holly Willoughby is pretty easily terrified, so quite why she signed herself up for a stint in the Australian jungle as the temporary host of 'I'm A Celebrity' is anyone's guess. "And we're ready for action". "She was at the entrance of the camp and just looking up and little tears in her eyes and she said, 'It's beautiful!'"

"So, it's a little bit different for me, I normally do it with a bloke every night, and people watching it seem to enjoy it".

The celebrity line-up is completed by The Chase's Anne Hegerty, DIY SOS host Nick Knowles, former X Factor star Fleur East, Hollyoaks actor Malique Thompson-Dwyer and Emily Atack, of The Inbetweeners.

On tonight's opening episode Holly and Dec greet John, Sair, Rita and James on the Gold Coast and split them into two teams; John and Sair are the yellow team, while Rita and James are the red team.

As Emily, 28, begins her jungle journey, a tweet from the TV star has resurfaced which saw her criticising 2012 contestant Helen for her reaction to the Bushtucker Trials.

'I'm A Celebrity' continues tonight at 9pm on ITV.

Both teams took part in The Edge challenge, two towers heading out from the edge of a cliff 100 metres above the jungle floor.
