Today, Red Dead Redemption II's online portion starts rolling out. However, considering past online Rockstar games like GTA Online as well as multiplayer in the original Red Dead, expect the mode to leverage the game's massive map for similar open-world action only this time starring real people. As previously revealed, legacy locations from Red Dead Redemption will also be visitable, too - most notably locations south of the border, in Mexico. This is quite a difference from the true-to-life fast travel options present in Red Dead Redemption 2, which force you to take a train or stagecoach to fast-travel around the huge open world.
Developer Rockstar announced today that the early access beta of Red Dead Redemption 2's online multiplayer mode will launch tomorrow, November 28, at 12:30am AEDT. I played the original game's online mode for hours on end and had a blast.
"To help us ease into the beta and to mitigate major issues, we will begin the early access period starting Tuesday, November 27 at 8:30am EST, and gradually scale the player base up to full access beginning on Friday, November 30". We will update this article once Rockstar Games releases an official set of patch notes for the game.
Red Dead Online as it exists now is actually a beta. Essentially everything that is in the single-player mode can also be found in Red Dead Online, with the exception of the single-player missions. We won't reveal numerous other key early details, but you can probably anticipate what happens given that the first Red Dead Online achievement is called "Breakout".

The mode will then be available on Wednesday for those who played the game on its first day of release followed by a Thursday launch for those who played during its first three days of release.
Online outlaws will be able to form Posses of up to seven players and engage in wholesome Wild West activities such as hunting, fishing, sitting around a campfire, and bloody murder.
