Google's new Pixel phones mirror an industry trend toward lusher, bigger screens and add twists on the camera for better pictures. Google claims the new product will charge the Pixel 3 quickly and efficiently, even when using a case. This will be a much easier solution to sharing control of our smart home devices.
Google, meanwhile, only has one camera on the Pixel range but it's often ranked as one of the best on any smartphone. And they'll shipping with a new mobile security chip-the same kind of chip that Google uses to protect the information flowing through its data centers. Well, according to Google, this setup gives you 184% of the field of view of the Pixel 2, allowing you to cram more people into your selfie.
Until past year, Google made its Pixel (or Nexus) phones in collaboration with third-party OEMs like HTC or LG. Essentially, Google is providing an aggregation of your smart home devices in a simple, pleasing arrangement so you can adjust the environment easily with a touch.
But how does the Pixel 3 actually compare to its predecessor, the Pixel 2? Pixel 3's shutter is more than just illustrious bokeh effects - it's branded with AI. But it lacks a zoom lens on either side, something available on some iPhones and Samsung phones. As well as the standard Just Black and Clearly White options, the Pixel 3 is available in Not Pink. The 5.5-inch Pixel 3 will sell from $799 and the 6.3-inch Pixel 3 XL from $899. The smaller Pixel 3 has a bezel straight across the top, but its two front-facing cameras are left-justified.More news: Melania Trump Wants to 'Get to Bottom' of Missing Saudi Journalist
Both phones have been made available for pre-order already.
On the upside, the Pixel 3 phones appear to have an improved OLED display that looks brighter and richer than last year's Pixel, with better colors. This new feature will hopefully come to all Pixel phones, including the Pixel 3 handsets, some time next month.
Currently, Google does have an online presence for its hardware products in the form of store.google.com.
The tech giant told a briefing in NY yesterday that France, Ireland, Japan and Taiwan will also get the device when sales start on Nov 1.
Google formally owns a chunk of HTC's smartphone division - 2,000 engineers and non-exclusive license for intellectual property - now but looks like it did not play any significant role in designing and building the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL phones. Both phones come with either 64GB or 128GB of storage - a far cry from the maximum 512GB storage of the new iPhone models announced in September.
