According to TMZ on Friday (Sept. 7) Miller was found unresponsive at his San Fernando Valley home after authorities were alerted by a male who placed a 911 call, presumably from Mac's home.
Grande's response serves as a timely reminder that we should not be holding her responsible for the actions of her ex, or even her current partner.
Miller has been open about his trouble with substance abuse including an addiction to powerful cough syrup - known on the street as purple drank.
In May, shortly after their breakup, Miller crashed his auto and was charged with driving under the influence.
"I used to rap super openly about really dark s***", he told Vulture in a profile that published on Thursday. "That's fine, that's good, that's life".
This is not the first time Ariana has been under fire since her heavily publicised breakup with Miller.
Grande tweeted at the time: "Pls take care of yourself".More news: Syria war: Russian Federation 'resumes Idlib air strikes'
At times, Miller's personal life attracted as much - if not more - attention than his professional accomplishments, particularly in the case of his relationship with singer Ariana Grande.
The rapper, whose most popular songs included "Loud", "Smile Back" and a collaboration with Grande called "The Way", released his latest album "Swimming" this summer.
Miller's final Instagram Story included video clips of him performing his song "Hurt Feelings" on stage. I could control it.
Celebrities have flocked to Twitter to express grief over Miller's passing.
It was only yesterday that Mac was referencing his tour on Twitter, and revealed through a retweet that the works of his recent album made him anxious. "I can't wait to know and support you forever and I'm so proud of you!" "You never told me being rich was so lonely".
Ed Sheeran, Post Malone, Solange, Chance The Rapper, Travis Barker and Snoop Dogg are just some of Mac's peers to share their thoughts, while here in Australia, artists such as Cub Sport and Alison Wonderland have also paid tribute (read what they all had to say below).
Singer Ariana Grande has disabled comments on her Instagram following the death of her ex-boyfriend Mac Miller of a rumoured overdose, after fans of the rapper began to blame her for his untimely death.
Mac Miller was 26 years old.
