Replying to the debate in Lok Sabha Friday, Modi took a swipe at the Congress and the Opposition arraigned against his party and government: "I pray to God to give you the strength to bring a no-confidence motion in 2024 also".
The Narendra Modi government on Friday passed the no-confidenc emotion moved by the oppostion with an overwhelming majority with the government getting 325 out of a total 451 votes.
Participating in the debate on the no-trust motion, TMC MP Saugata Roy said the motion was moved by BJP's estranged ally TDP while NDA partner Shiv Sena, which is part of the government at both the Centre and state, had boycotted it.
He said when PM Modi went to France, "with some magic" powers, the price per plane increased to '1,600 crore, much more than '520 crore when the Congress was in power.
What agitated the BJP members of the Lok Sabha was Rahul Gandhi's allegation that the government headed by Narendra Modi had handed over a lucrative defense contract related to the acquisition of Rafale aircraft to a private industrialist.

Congress president Rahul Gandhi's hit-hug-wink ways didn't enthuse the ruling BJP and Speaker Sumitra Mahajan.
"And it was seen by the people what your eyes said today", Modi said, blinking his fingers to portray Gandhi's winking gesture.
Before starting his address in the Lok Sabha, Gandhi acknowledged TDP leader Jayadev Galla and said that he could sense his pain.
