As Godwin of Anthem, Arizona, returned home Friday from hiking with her two dogs, Todd and Copper, 6-month-old Todd moved between her and the snake, ending up with the snake bite, she said.
Something similar happened when a woman from Sedona, Arizona nearly stepped on a rattlesnake - her 6-month-old "hero" puppy leaped in front to save her human ensuring she was safe. She even posted a live video on Facebook sharing about her morning walk wishing everyone a happy day.
Todd, her "hero of a puppy", courageously jumped in front of its owner's leg where she "surely would have got bit". What a courageous boy!
Photos showed the pup's face was very swollen after the bite. Godwin took him to Anthem Animal Hospital where they treated his bite.

She added that if it was her choice, "I would have much rather been bitten by the snake". "This is what a hero looks like", she said.
Todd is expected to recover.
Godwin started a GoFundMe campaign to raise $500 that she said will go to help other dog owners in the area with similarly courageous pets pay for antivenom treatment.
Godwin posted to Facebook on Monday: "Todd's doing so well he is a wonder to me how he is healing".
