President Donald Trump reported that he reimbursed personal attorney Michael Cohen for costs apparently incurred in paying adult film star Stormy Daniels for a non-disclosure agreement, according to a federally required annual financial disclosure form released by the Office of Government Ethics Wednesday.

Cohen, Trump's longtime attorney and personal fixer, had his Manhattan office, home and hotel room raided by FBI agents last month as part of a criminal investigation launched by federal prosecutors in NY.

Cohen has said he made the payment shortly before the 2016 election as hush money for Clifford, who goes by the stage name Stormy Daniels.

A NY attorney wants an order protecting the information the Federal Bureau of Investigation seized from Michael Cohen's office. because of attorney-client privilege and his fear that Stormy Daniels' lawyer, Michael Avenatti, is shady.

Cohen is under investigation, in part over a $130,000 payment to Daniels in exchange for her silence about an alleged sexual encounter with Trump a decade ago.

"Mr Cohen sought reimbursement of those expenses and Mr Trump fully reimbursed Mr Cohen in 2017", it said.

A law enforcement agent leaked three government documents detailing suspicious financial activity by the firm of Michael Cohen, President Donald Trump's personal attorney, due to concerns that information on Cohen's dealings were missing from a government database-a serious red flag pointing to the possibility that files detailing possible criminal activity were intentionally covered up. In February, Cohen said he was never reimbursed for payment to Daniels.

Mr Cohen also stands accused of seeking to cash in on his proximity to the President, after it emerged he received millions of dollars from a Russian oligarch and major corporations seeking access to the administration.

Sater, who worked closely with Trump and had an office in the president's NY tower, reached out to Cohen in May 2016 and tried to gauge when Trump could fit the trip to Moscow into his busy campaign schedule. Daniels says she had an affair with the president.

His Washington hotel in a former Post Office building brought in more than $40m in 2017, its first full year in operation. Mr Apol's letter was released with the Trump disclosures. According to the official, two other SARs documenting Cohen's questionable financial transactions, which reportedly total around $3 million, were missing from the database maintained by the Treasury Department's Financial Crimes Enforcement Network, or FinCEN.

The report also showed Trump earned between $230,000 and $1.1 million in capital gains income on stock in iPhone maker Apple, Caterpillar, Microsoft and Pepsico.
