Beginning on Record Store Day, the folks at Friendly Records in Bristol have decided to make it "Record Store Weekend" with live performances from Snails, Alex Lipinski and Olive Haigh.

"Three David Bowie releases: "Bowie Now", first commercial release of the 1977 promo compilation on white vinyl; "Welcome to the Blackout", a three-LP set of a previously unreleased live show in London from 1978; and "Let's Dance", a 12" single featuring a previously unreleased full-length demo of the song with a live version from 1983.
The store opens at 10 a.m. The single will be backed by a recording of "New York poem (for Polly)" taken from the album Useless Magic that will be released in July.

While these exclusives help bring in the crowds, the entire day has become a party for record lovers, Marsh said.
Record Store Day is noted for limited releases, or pressings, of certain records. Though the store has participated each year in Record Store Day, Gederberg said this year will be the biggest with more than 150 exclusive vinyl releases.
