Direction of the film, originally helmed by Christopher Miller and Phillip Lord, changed hands in June 2017, when the pair and Lucasfilm split ways over "creative differences". When you're tinkering with the backstory of a character like Han Solo (and Lando!), with fans that have watched the originals a billion times, contention is a given. This has led to some questioning the state of the movie and how it would be received upon its release, but we guess we'll just have to wait.

The official trailer for Solo: A Star Wars Story made their debut today, and they have us wishing we could just make the jump to May 25 already. This relationship is key, and it's new in the timeline of "Solo". Now directed by Ron Howard, see the trailer below for the film also starring Alden Ehrenreich, Woody Harrelson, Emilia Clarke, Thandie Newton, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Joonas Suotamo, and Paul Bettany. We get an even better look at Donald Glover's Lando Calrissian, which is the character we're most looking forward to seeing in the film.
The trailer features a dizzying array of new footage, but one scene in particular stands out. In the course of his adventures, he also befriends his mighty future copilot Chewbacca and meets the notorious gambler Lando Calrissian. Howard then reshot portions of the movie and finished the production based on a script by writers Jon Kasdan & Lawrence Kasdan.
