The lawyer for an adult film actress, Stormy Daniels, who claims she had an affair with Donald Trump has posted a picture of a data disc as a "warning shot" to the President.

Former Playboy model, Karen McDougal, has also sued Trump seeking to leave a gagging order silencing her over an alleged nine-month affair.

"Being in the adult industry, I've developed a thick skin and maybe a little bit of a dark sense of humour", she told The Washington Post at the weekend. Daniels accepted the money in return for signing a confidentiality agreement.

She filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court against the National Enquirer, which she says paid her £110,000 in 2016 to keep quiet.

Daniels' interview with Anderson Cooper certainly won't put an end to this story, but it will be interesting to hear her side of the story.

The 60 Minutes segment will include an examination of the potential legal and political ramifications of the $130,000 payment that Mr. Trump's attorney Michael Cohen says he made to Daniels using his own funds.

The payment has since become the focus of campaign finance complaints to the Federal Election Commission.

Appearing on ABC News's "This Week", Christopher Ruddy, chief executive of Newsmax, said he had talked to Trump on Saturday and that the president "said he thought that, that much of the Stormy Daniels stuff was a political hoax". The government watchdog group Common Cause argues that the payment was meant to influence the 2016 election by silencing Daniels and therefore was an illegal in-kind contribution to Trump's campaign.

"Now we have a sitting US President ... who is threatening to sue a private citizen for over $20 million for talking about their relationship", Avenatti said last week. If her Sunday interview on 60 Minutes is anything like her Twitter feed, it'll definitely be one to watch. She said she "simply wanted to tell my personal truth and defend myself". But she said she also has been overwhelmed by an outpouring of support. In court documents filed last week, Cohen said that Daniels had already breached the contract at least 20 times and that he intends to collect at least $20 million from her.
