Joseph Kahn, Taylor's longtime video director, who also helmed "Delicate", wrote, "The joy of Taylor dancing in the rain is real".
Like all Swift projects, the "Delicate" video is chock-full of Easter eggs, nodding to everything from "Track 5s" significance on her albums (Swifties know it's always an ultra-vulnerable track that'll probably make you cry) to that gorgeous Gatsby-esque bright blue dress she wears throughout before she's "painted golden".
Christopher Walken famously starred in this legendary Fatboy Slim video, in which the actor shows off some otherworldly dance moves in the lobby of the Marriott Hotel in Los Angeles. That allows her to unleash her true self without being hounded by the media.More news: Nun in legal battle with Katy Perry dies in court
Some of her fans loved it, but others weren't so impressed! According to some eagle-eyed Twitter users, the visuals for "Delicate" might appear to bear more than a passing resemblance to one famous video from 2016 - Spike Jonze's four-minute short film/perfume ad for Kenzo, starring Margaret Qualley. Also cited is the fact that Taylor had previously said during a private event with fans that the song will explore the question: "What happens when you meet somebody that you really want in your life and then you start worrying about what they've heard before they met you?"
Being two different people with two different styles, onlookers shouldn't be so quick to judge since inspiration comes from all directions.
Looking ahead of herself, Swift is looking forward to her stadium tour launching May 8, tickets can be purchased here.
