Bulls power forward Bobby Portis summed up the Derrick Rose, Jimmy Butler and Tom Thibodeau reunion in one word: "Timberbulls". He was with NY last season and started this season with Cleveland, but he appeared in only 16 games with the Cavaliers largely because of injuries.
Derrick Rose has reportedly found a home for the remainder of the season. While playing with the Knicks he averaged 18 points and 4.4 assists per game. During that time, Rose earned two of his three All-Star appearances and became the youngest player in National Basketball Association history to win the Most Valuable Player award. While with the Cavaliers earlier this season, Rose hurt his ankle and then made a decision to leave the team for a while, and even contemplated retirement.More news: Bomb explodes under police officer's vehicle in Northern Ireland
There's no telling how Rose will fit with the Timberwolves roster as a whole, but we already know that he is intimately familiar with his former teammates and with Thibodeau's system. I'm not here for stats or anything like that. That's what our expectations are: "come in, be a good teammate, try to help us win", Thibodeau said after the morning shootaround. "I just want to win and help this team and franchise win".
The Wolves are locked in a wild playoff race in the Western Conference. If D-Rose can average around ten points a game it could help this young Wolves team out.
