"We can assure you we're not that clever", Blizzard said in a statement. That seems to suggest that Diablo 3 is headed to the Nintendo Switch, which is a port many players have been asking for.

The launch of the Nintendo Switch was the main cause for hardware figures booming by a huge 29.9 per cent, and the rise in VR gaming also played a part in boosting the market.

When pinged for question, a Blizzard spokesperson told Polygon via e-mail that the post was meant to be a fun community engagement piece. Blizzard took to Twitter to tease what could be a release of the popular role-playing game for Nintendo's console. "We have nothing to announce". Or so we thought.

We're still waiting on that Hearthstone port, Blizzard.

Midway through the week, Blizzard's official Twitter shared a very weird video of a Diablo-themed nightlight. Since then, Jeff Kaplan has discussed the possibility of Overwatch on the Switch, but it looks like Diablo III will be the first game to get there. Additionally, there was a gif of a nightlight of Diablo - the Lord of Terror - being turned off and on.

This may well be a video of a night light, but its generated a lot of hype with the assumption being that Diablo III will be coming to the Nintendo Switch. If the game came to the Switch, we'd start back over.

I doubt we'll hear anything about this project until Blizzard is ready to show the game running in all its glory.
