"Infrastructure sector, a prime determinant of progress, saw a total investment proposal worth Rs 2,347 crore", the spokesperson said.Other major companies announcing investments in Assam are BPCL (Rs 350 crore), Essel Infraprojects (Rs 6,000 crore), Star Cement (Rs 2,100 crore), Infinity Infotech Parks (Rs 1,000 crore) and Mahindra Holidays and Resorts India (Rs 400 crore), among others, he added.

PM addressed the summit and said that the event will showcase the state's investment potential to countries in South and South East Asia, in sectors including manufacturing, services, power, agriculture and food processing, IT, transportation, petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, textiles and handicrafts and tourism.
Assam Industry Minister, Chandra Mohan Patwary said the Government of India has committed that a new policy to attract investment in the region is being drafted.
"Very aptly, "India's Expressway to ASEAN" has been chosen as the tagline of the summit", he said.
Startups and Innovation in North East saw an interesting discourse on "Unleashing entrepreneurship in North East - what start-ups in NE region need to thrive in the region" - Mr.Deepak Bagla, MD & CEO, Invest India (Startup India), Mr.RRamanan, Mission Director, Atal Innovation Mission, NITI Aayog, Mr.Pham DuyHieu, CEO, Startup Vietnam Foundation and others dignitaries attended the discussions. At his concluding speech during the valedictory function at the Global Investors' Summit, Hon'ble Chief Minister of Assam Shri SarbanandaSonowal said that Advantage Assam is an initiative for the younger generation of the state. "Likewise, while the State Capital Region will encompass a large area spread across five adjoining districts, Guwahati has also found place in the list of Smart Cities", chief minister Sonowal said.
