Four cricketers have been arrested in Kashmir have been arrested for allegedly participating in a pre-match ceremony where Pakistan's national anthem was played.
In April past year, police had detained local cricketers in Ganderbal area for donning Pakistan uniform and playing its national anthem. Even though the police confirmed the news of detaining the two teams, they kept shush on revealing who was arrested.

The latest incident happened at the finals of a local tournament in Arin, Bandipora. Local reports said that four persons have been arrested. The debate on standing up for the national anthem at public places has been going on for a while now.
The stadium where the incident took place is a local ground situated among hillocks. "We have arrested four people", Sheikh Zulfikar Azad, senior superintendent of police, Bandipora, told DNA. Police later lodged an FIR against organisers and many were detained for questioning. The teams involved were MCC, Gondipora and Dardpora Cricket Club.
A video of the cricketers standing in attention as the Pakistani national anthem played in the background at the Government Higher Secondary School became viral on social media networking sites and was also circulated widely via WhatsApp in north Kashmir. The police has registered a case against two cricket teams for singing Pakistan's national anthem.
