Because the fan vote is diluted, it's fairly unlikely that we will see players like Manu Ginobili (fifth among Western Conference guards in the fan vote), Lonzo Ball (eighth among West guards), Kyle Kuzma (ninth among the West frontcourt), or Enes Kanter (ninth among the East frontcourt).
Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo is the leading vote-getter among all players with 863,416 and finds himself ahead of Cleveland Cavaliers superstar LeBron James by nearly 7,500 votes. I also think LeBron will overtake him for the Eastern Conference voting lead, but Antetokounmpo is in contention.
"Under the revamped format, two captains will draft the 2018 All-Star teams from the pool of players voted as starters and reserves, making selections without regard for conference affiliation".
