The coldest values are expected to arrive Sunday night through Monday night, with the highest threat for risky wind chill values occurring during the early morning hours on both days.
Relatively "balmy" weather is expected to return to the area Saturday when the Parkland is forecast to see a high of 36 and low of 23. Wind chills tonight and Sunday will range from -10 to -20 degrees.
The coldest day time high will be 5 degrees above zero, and that's expected Monday.

Colder air settled into the region this afternoon dropping our temperatures through out the day. It may even become the coldest, as the current record is 2º from 1928! Dry conditions will likely continue as well with no chance for any snow in the next 8 days. New Years Day will be spent below zero as well.
It's not just the bone-chilling temperatures we have to contend with, it's the wind. Tomorrow night, lows plummet -15 to -20, with wind chills as cold as -35. The high on Sunday will top out at about 15, with a low of -2. At night, skies will become cloudy, and lows will dip to 14 degrees.
