As rumors surrounding Floyd Mayweather heading to the UFC continue to circulate, UFC president Dana White is only adding fuel to that speculation. "If I chose to get in the UFC and fight three fights or fight four fights and then fight Conor McGregor, I could make a billion dollars".
The Irishman hasn't stepped foot inside the UFC cage since November 2016, interrupting his extended absence from the fight game for a one-off boxing match with Floyd Mayweather in August. McGregor strutting back into the Octagon and successfully defending against Tony Ferguson would silence the only legitimate critique of his career and unify the titles.
"Money is always a factor but we've never had a problem getting a deal done with Conor McGregor". Mayweather won the bout via 10th round TKO. Because if you look at how everything played out, Conor has fought everybody. He tried not to do it, but he contractually had to let go of the 145-pound belt.

It was hoped that McGregor would return to the Octagon in the main event of UFC 219 to defend his title and see 2017 out in style but discussions on that were given the kibosh after his ill-advised antics at a Bellator event in Dublin.
"What we have to do is - he needs to defend that title", White told FOX Sports' Undisputed.
White also said that he has a meeting with Mayweather's people on Thursday. He fought [Chad] Mendes, [Dustin] Poirier. It wasn't Conor's fault [Rafael dos Anjos] got hurt. "And after the fight, every fighter in the UFC gave him props for representing the sport". White is hopeful that McGregor can return no later than summer of 2018 but wouldn't say who his opponent might be. Dos Anjos pulled out due to injury, setting in motion a pair of fights for McGregor at welterweight against Nate Diaz.
